This novel is about an astronaut who was left behind on Mars. When he realizes he’s all alone on a deserted planet, he starts making daily journals of what he does until he is rescued. I like this novel because it’s a story focused on one person, and it shows how one can be so creative just to survive. He goes beyond expectations, and even outsmarts the smart. This novel isn’t censored, which makes it feel realistic, unlike many other novels. What is cool about this is that there is a lot of science. I, for one, don’t like science, but this book makes me want to keep reading. When I was reading this book, I could never really tell what was going to happen next. The suspense kept building up, and I just wanted to keep reading the book.
